JERRY ANDERSON

Jerry was preceded in death by her parents; husband Alton Odell "Andy" Anderson; daughter, Suzanne Broom; six brothers and one sister. She is survived by her son, Steve Anderson and wife Pam of Texarkana, AR; son-in-law Tom Broom of Gladewater, TX; grandchildren, Dan Broom and wife Jamie of Taylor, AR, Kim Glass and husband Randall of Texarkana, AR, Andy Broom of Greenbrier, AR, and Angie Martinez of Albuquerque, NM; great grandchildren, Emily Broom, James Glass, William Glass, Alivia Broom, Ayden Broom, Evan Broom, Matthew Martinez, and Hannah Martinez; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Jerry's educational journey led her to Kilgore College in Kilgore, TX, where she received an associate's degree. After graduation she moved back to Magnolia and started a career as a bookkeeper for the Banner News. In addition to her professional endeavors, Jerry was a devoted member of the Central Baptist Church. She served as the chairman of the food committee, organizing countless meals and events for the congregation.

Jerry was also a dedicated volunteer in her community. For 20 years, she served as a "Pink Lady" for the Magnolia City Hospital Auxiliary. She was passionate about helping others, and her volunteer work was a testament to her kind and generous spirit. Jerry was also a member of the Pilot Club.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Central Baptist Church with a funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. with Dr. Mike Seabaugh and Bro. Steve Ford officiating. Burial will be in the Magnolia Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia.

Honorary pallbearers will be the volunteers of Magnolia Regional Medical Center Auxiliary Pink Ladies.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central Baptist Church, 207 West Union, Magnolia, AR 71753.

CLEVELAND McVEY

Cleveland Wayne McVey, 66, of Magnolia, passed away Friday, November 3, 2023, at his home.

Wayne was born July 27, 1957, in Osceola, Arkansas. He settled in Springfield, Missouri, where he served as a Sous Chef.

Wayne retired due to health issues. He also leaves behind a grandson and several very close friends who formally established The Silver Dollar Club.

No public arrangements will be rendered.

DEWAYNE CORNISH

Dewayne Lawrence Cornish, 46, of Stamps, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at UT Southwest Medical Center in Dallas.

Celebration of Life services will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Lafayette County School Auditorium in Lewisville, at 11 a.m., with burial to follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Stamps, under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home. Rev. Frankie B. Mitchell, Eulogist.

Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 10, from 1 – 3 p.m., at R.L. Reed Funeral Home in Magnolia.
