Gloria Watson, 88, of Mt. Holly, passed away on November 5, 2018 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado, AR. She was a homemaker and excellent seamstress, who lived to sew for her girls. Gloria was a member of Silver Hill Methodist Church where she served as Lay Leader to the Arkansas United Methodist Conference for more than 30 years. She served as song leader, Director of Vacation of Bible School, and a Sunday school teacher for all ages. She was a 4-H leader and attended all events which her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were involved.
She was born on May 14, 1930 to Lonnie and Effie Mae Lamb. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister, and her husband of 65 years, Colon Watson.
She is survived by her son, Tom Watson; daughters, Jo Anne Zachary (John), Janet Phillips (David), and Jenene Warren (Richard); nine grandchildren, Kim Smith (Michael), Julie Parsons (Mike), Jena Pittman (Chris), Dwayne Warren (Jana), Christy Cranford (Cody), Jill Austin (Joseph), Russell Warren, Michael Phillips, and Dana Phillips; eighteen great grandchildren and numerous family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM with Funeral Services following at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Silver Hill Methodist Church. Interment will be at Silver Hill Cemetery officiated by Rev. Steve Cook.
We would like to thank the staff of Hudson Nursing Home for the loving care provided for our mother and grandmother for the last 15 months. We would also like to thank the staff at Life Touch Hospice for their kindness to the family and wonderful care of our mom.
Serving as Pallbearers are the grandchildren and great grandchildren: Dwayne Warren, Russell Warren, Michael Phillips, Dillon Smith, Ethan Warren, and Jordan Parsons.
