Hat night a success for youths

More than 75 youths, aged preschool to 12th grade, showed up Tuesday’s “Hat Night” at the Columbia Baptist District Association’s Congress of Christian Education being held this week at district center. Starting at 5 p.m., youths attend classes and then gather back in the auditorium an hour later to practice songs, including Christian rap. More than 100 youths are expected to be in attendance for Thursday’s final night, when the youths will perform before hundreds of people who will be in attendance. Adult classes are being held at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. Youths and adults are encouraged to come out for the final nights of the annual July Congress.
