He was among 48 student-athletes honored and earned a spot on the second-team.

As a Google Cloud Academic All-District First-Team selection, White advanced to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Team ballot where Division II Sports Information Directors voted for the top student-athletes among the First-Team selections from the four Division II Super Regions.

White, a redshirt-junior punter from Benton, La., carries a 3.99 GPA as a double major in Chemistry Pre-Health Professional Biochemistry and Biology Pre-Health at Southern Arkansas.

This past season, he proved to be a threat for the Muleriders on special teams as he punted 45 times for 1,749 yards at an average of 38.9 yards per punt. The left-footed punter booted a program record 78 yard punt at Southeastern Oklahoma.

Of his 45 punts, 15 were fair catches, 13 landed inside the 20-yard line and he had just three touchbacks. White hammered four punts of 50 or more yards.

In SAU’s final game of the season, a Dec. 1 matchup with Missouri Western in the annual Agent Barry Live United Bowl, White escaped a near-disaster on a low snap as he found an open teammate for a 17-yard completion while being drug down from behind.

Because of White, Southern Arkansas ranked 25th nationally in net punting at 36.54 yards per punt. Even more impressive is that White led the Muleriders’ charge in ranking fifth in the country in punt return defense as opponents managed just ten returns all season which netted only 19 yards at an average of just 1.90 yards per return.

White joins teammate Kile Pletcher as Google Cloud Academic All-America honorees. Pletcher received the honor last season.
