RODNEY CHERRY

Rodney Darwin Cherry, 51, of Magnolia was born October 18, 1966, in Lewisville to Jack and Shirley Barbaree Cherry. He grew up in Bodcaw and lived in Magnolia for the last 25 years until his death.

Rodney was owner of ArkLaTex Home Inspections and was proud to be a reserve officer of the Magnolia Police Department. He loved fishing, hunting, and, most of all, his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack R. Cherry, brother Jack Cherry-Mize, and sister Kathy Nolen.

He is survived by his mother, Shirley Barbaree Cherry of Magnolia; his wife of 33 years, Demetris Skelton Cherry; his children, Heather Cherry Harmon of Conway, Justin Cherry of Magnolia, and Dakota Skelton of Magnolia; four grandsons; brother Douglas Cherry of Texarkana; sisters Teresa Cherry Glazer of Westminster, Colo., and Barbara Cherry of Dekalb, Texas; and many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Celebration of Life will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at R.L. Reed Funeral Home Chapel in Magnolia with burial to follow at the Shiloh #2 Cemetery in Falcon under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home of Magnolia. Officiating will be Bro. Ron Owens and Bro. Lane Garner.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 20, at the funeral home.
