Lady Panthers to play Friday

HOPE - Five hits from Carlin Whaley paved the way to 16-5 victory for the Magnolia Lady Panthers over Hope on Tuesday.

Magnolia will return to the diamond at home Friday against Hot Springs Lakeside.

Action at Lady Panther Field will begin at 4:30 p.m.

At Hope, Whaley doubled in the first, singled in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh innings.

Hope scored three runs in the third, but Magnolia still managed to pull out the victory.

Magnolia got things started in the first inning with a run. Then they notched five runs in the fifth inning.

Jacii Powell, Kendall McMahen, Hannah Brigham, and Jade Snider all moved runners across the plate with RBIs.

Caitlyn McCormack earned the victory in the circle for the Lady Panthers.

She lasted seven innings, allowing eight hits and five runs while striking out nine and walking none.

Magnolia had 13 hits in the game.

Whaley, CB Souter, and Powell each racked up multiple hits.

Whaley went 5-for-6 at the plate, while Bailey Ladner led Magnolia with three of its 12 stolen bases.

Both teams committed one error in the contest.

After Friday, the Lady Panthers will play their final two regular-season games at home against El Dorado next Tuesday and Hot Springs on April 26, which will serve as Senior Night.
