FRIDAY - Apr. 13

The Festival on the Rails Pageant will take place at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church in McNeil. Applications are available online or at the water office in McNeil.

SATURDAY - Apr. 14

The 11th Annual Festival on the Rails and 8th annual Pork Chop Cookoff in McNeil will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until fireworks at dusk.

LifeShare Blood Center will hold a blood drive 12-5 p.m. at the Festival on the Rails in MacNeil, 106 Olive Street. To sign up to donate or for more information, call 903-794-3173.

MONDAY - Apr. 16

Learn how to take better care of your diabetes by signing up for the free Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (DEEP). WEDNESDAY - Apr. 18

Area 15 Special Olympics will be held at Magnolia High School stadium beginning at 9am. Many volunteers are needed. Call Sara Carrington or Johnnie Ware at 870-234-6118 for more information or to volunteer.

Harvest Regional Food Bank mobile pantry will distribute USDA commodities 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the C.W. Easter Recreation Center, 902 E. McKissack in Waldo. Pantry boxes will be provided to the first 120 qualifying households. Must be a resident of Columbia County and provide proof of address and photo identification. Neva Baker and Julia Smith will host a meet and greet 2-4 p.m. at the Magnolia-Columbia County Chamber of Commerce Office (211 W. Main) for David Sterling, candidate for Arkansas Supreme Court justice. Refreshments will be served.

Greer’s Chapel United Methodist Church will host a Laundry Love event 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Main Street Laundry, 1109 E. Main in Magnolia. Coins and detergent will be provided for up to three (3) normal loads per family. Drop by to do your laundry for free.

Taylor Elementary School will hold kindergarten registration in the Taylor cafeteria at 6 p.m. For the 2018-2019 school year, a child must be 5 years of age on or before August 1, 2018. Please have the following records: proof of physical examination (within 2 years of enrollment date), up-to-date immunization record, birth certificate or state approved proof of age, Social Security card or state approved proof of SSN, two proofs of residency in the Emerson-Taylor-Bradley School District OR submit School Choice application *ON or BEFORE May 1, Medicaid card if child is covered by Medicaid. Families and Children Together (FACT) has scheduled a meeting of the Policy Council at 9:30 a.m. The meeting will be held at the FACT central office at 2720 Vine Street in El Dorado and is open to the public.

Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church is having an All You Can Eat Open Faced Taco fundraiser 5-7 p.m. at intersection of Columbia Roads 15 and 200. Tickets are $10 for ages 13 and up, $5 for children 5-12, under 5 free. Dine in or take out. Ticket includes tea and dessert.

The 4th Annual Dustin Bettis Memorial Scholarship Car & Truck Show will take place 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on the parking lot of Immanuel Baptist Church, 1823 E. North St. in Magnolia. Magnolia High School Class of 1978 will hold its 40th Class Reunion at the Magnolia Country Club.
