BETHANY, Okla. – Trailing the entire first half, the SAU Lady Muleriders (0-3, 0-1 GAC) scored the first seven points after the intermission to take the lead from Southern Nazarene (1-0, 1-0 GAC) in the third quarter, but the Crimson Storm benefited from a late 9-0 run that proved to be the difference in the game to reclaim the lead and eventually salvage the victory, 72-59.

Southern Nazarene used a 90 percent effort from the charity stripe in the first half to its advantage as they held the lead for the full 20 minutes into the intermission. In the second quarter, SAU turned its biggest scoring deficit of 11 points into a two-point game as they scored the final six points of the half to make it 33-31, SNU.

SAU continued to put pressure on the Crimson Storm, scoring the first six points out of the half to take the lead from SNU, 37-33, within the first minute of action.

With 5:13 to play in the third quarter, SNU went on a 9-0 run to reclaim the lead over Southern Arkansas, 44-41.

The Crimson Storm eventually ran away with the contest as they engineered their largest lead of the night (13 points) in the fourth quarter to take the win over SAU, 72-59.

As a team, SAU shot 80 percent from the charity stripe (20-of-25).

Kimberly Crown recorded her first double-double of the season as she led the team with 10 rebounds and 15 points.

Sue Key and Olivia McWilliams followed Crown in most points as they registered nine apiece.

Anna Djedjemel and Erin Brinkley each tallied seven points each.

As a team, SAU registered six blocks with Tuana Dinc and Brinkley getting two apiece.

The Lady Muleriders continue GAC play in Oklahoma on Saturday with a 1 p.m. game against Oklahoma Baptist in Shawnee, Okla.

Following Saturday's game, the Lady Muleriders' next action will be Wednesday at Northeastern State in Tahlequah, Okla.
