MHS students selected for M*A*S*H program

Stephon O’Guinn, Juleeanna Grace Basinger, Yasmine Morris, Mariah Guevara, Reece McDonald, and Madalynn Vann, students at Magnolia High School, have been selected to participate in the MASH program this summer. The MASH (Medical Applications of Science for Health) program is designed for accelerated students considering a career in a health care profession. The course is sponsored by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Arkansas Farm Bureau, and the Arkansas Medical Mentor Partnership. Selected students participate in a two-week summer camp which provides them with opportunities to job shadow for five days in a variety of health care locations, learn medical terminology, and take part in hands-on activities to learn medical procedures. Students also take part in team building activities, heart dissection and suturing, proper wrapping techniques and casting, as well as learning about a variety of health careers and education levels needed for different careers.
