SATURDAY - Feb. 25

Stay Sharp Community Outreach will hold an “Empowerment Conference for Christian Couples and Single Parents” at 6 p.m. at the SAU Grand Hall. Mercy and Grace M.B.C. of Magnolia will hold a Fish Fry Fundraiser from 11 a.m.- until. Plates are $8, meal includes: 3pc fish, fries, slaw, and hushpuppies.

New Birth Disciples of Christ Ministries of 602 S. Washington St. will honor its musicians at 6 p.m. Everyone is cordially invited.

Mount Tabor Baptist Church will hold its Pastor’s Aide program, ‘UPS of Life,’ at 6 p.m. Guest speakers will be Don moore, Christen Turner, Tia Wesson, Derrick Harper, Greg French, and Gladys Wesson.

SUNDAY - Feb. 26

Kendrick’s Chapel Baptist Church of Waldo will hold its Black History Program at 11 a.m. Guests will be Rev. Rubin Radford and Common Hill Baptist Church of Hope. Lunch will be served.

Mt. Zion Baptist Church will hold its Black History Program at 6 p.m. There will be short skits, poetry, church humor, and inventors past and present. Special guests will be the Lights of Faith.

New Bethel Baptist Church will hold its “Family and Friends Day” at 2:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. Billy Burris. Guest church sill be St. Peter M.B.C. of Little Rock.

Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church Youth Department will host the 13th annual African-American History Celebration of Youth: Remembering Our Heritage at 2:30 p.m. in the Grand Hall at SAU. The event is co-sponsored by SAU’s Office of Multicultural Services, Albemarle Foundation, Columbia County Community Foundation, and CSNS Fashion & Men’s Wear. Area high school seniors will be speaking, along with special young adult speaker Gabrielle Davis, an SAU junior political science major. The event is free and open to the public. St. John Baptist Church, 714 W. Jackson St. in Waldo, Rev. Hal W. Prevoe, pastor, will hold a Black History program at 3 p.m. Guest speaker will be Bro. Randy L. Reed.

TUESDAY - Feb. 28

Greer’s Chapel United Methodist Church will host a “Laundry Love” event 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Main Street Laundry, 1109 E. Main St. in Magnolia. Coins and laundry detergent will be provided, for three normal loads per family. http://www.laundrylove.org

St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church will hold “Family and Friends Day” at 2:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. Daryl Hope, and guest church will be St. Stephens Baptist Church. Everyone is invited.
