SAU Sports Information

RUSSELLVILLE – Senior forward Rosa Bryant has been named the Great American Conference's Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending November 23 for her performances last week as announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.

Bryant recorded three 20+ point games (all on the road) and posted a pair of double-doubles in helping lead SAU to a 3-0 week and their best start to a season since 2004-05. The Bastrop, Louisiana, native averaged 21.3 points on 55.8% shooting and collected 15.3 rebounds per game, including 18 or more rebounds twice.

Both of her double-doubles came at a hefty rate as she logged 23 points and 18 rebounds in a win at Texas A&M-Commerce and 21 points and 19 rebounds in a comeback victory at Southeastern Oklahoma. Bryant posted career-highs in minutes (40 vs SE), rebounds (19 vs SE) and shots made (11 vs TAMUC) during the three-game stretch.

Bryant and the Lady Muleriders will take to the court again for their home opener on December 3 for a GAC matchup with Northwestern Oklahoma State at 5:30 p.m., before taking the floor two days later for a 1 p.m. tip-off with Southwestern Oklahoma on Saturday, December 5.
