A Camden man has plead guilty to one count of pandering or possessing a medium sexual conduct with a child and one count of distributing, possessing or viewing material depicting sex with a child.
Joshua Hooks, 37, accepted a plea deal and could face up to 8 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
According to an affidavit from the Ouachita County Sheriff's Department, on or about March 7, 2023 OCSD obtained a copy of the National Center For Missing and Exploited Children cyber tip line report filed by Dropbox inc.
The report stated that a Dropbox user "Joshua Hooks" uploaded files depicting child pornography in December of 2022.
On April 10, 2023, investigators with OSCO reviewed the drop box folder and found a subfolder labeled "CP" and found two pictures and ten video files of purported child pornography.
The affidavit states the IP addresses returned to Hook's residence and another IP address belonged to ARDOT, and investigators confirmed that Hooks was an employee.
Under the agreement, Hooks will have to register as a sex offender and be prohibited from having social media accounts, entering schools and playgrounds, and can not have unsupervised contact with children.
