Arkansas Mission of Mercy (ArMOM) is holding its two-day free dental clinic at the Conway Expo Center April 14-15, 2023. The event is made possible by the presenting sponsors Arkansas State Dental Association and Delta Dental of Arkansas. Sponsors include Arkansas Dental Hygiene Association and others to be named.
ArMOM provides dental care for the relief of pain to under-served Arkansans, many of whom are from working families who do not have access or cannot afford dental insurance. At the clinic, dental services are provided free of charge by a host of volunteers and sponsors. In the past 17 years, tens of thousands of patients have been treated thanks to the support of dedicated volunteers.
"We are eager to bring back this event after the pandemic. This is a great service opportunity for anyone looking to help out the community in a meaningful way," said Dr. Terry Fiddler, ArMOM Executive Director. "Oral health is essential to our well-being and without ArMOM many patients might otherwise have had no hope of receiving care."
Approximately 900 volunteer positions need to be filled. There are dental and medical volunteer positions as well as non-dental/non-medical positions available. In addition, AR-licensed dental personnel can receive 2 hours CE credit per ½-day shift worked.
