Obituaries for June 20 2023


Mavolene Cook Booth, 94 of Bryant passed away, Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock.

Mavolene was born, November 23, 1928, in Columbia County, Arkansas to the late Julius Bailey Cook and Maude (Nesbit) Cook.

Mavolene was a member of Oak Forest United Methodist Church in Little Rock and loved working in her flower garden. She retired from Arkansas Teacher Retirement System on June 30, 1993, after 32 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Charlie D. Booth, brother Dr. Charles W. Cook and wife Frances, and a sister Mary Sue Hines.

Mavolene is survived by her two sons, Stan Booth (Susan) of Madison, Mississippi and Stuart Booth (Michelle) of Bryant Arkansas. Also survived by her grandchildren, Austin Booth and Angi Muse and great grandchildren, Tyler and Alex Turbyfill and Savannah Ford, and Mary Katherine Reed.

Visitation with the family will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2023, with funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Ebenezer Methodist Church with Bro. Ken Hipp officiating. Burial will follow services at Ebenezer Methodist Cemetery.

Payton Allman

Payton Mark Allman, 19 of El Dorado, Arkansas formerly of Magnolia, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, June 14, 2023, in El Dorado.

Payton was born September 19, 2003, in Magnolia. He graduated from El Dorado High School. He loved swimming, working out in the gym, gaming on his computer, animals, traveling, and listening to music.

Payton is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Bonnie Garner, grandfather, Byron Thompson, great grandparents, Ford and Gladys Thompson, and Ruth and Wallace Jean Peace.

Payton is survived by his father Mark Allman (Jennifer); mother Brittny Hendrix (Mark) all of El Dorado; brothers, Colt Thompson (Bailey) of El Dorado, Phillip Allman (Jennie) of Stamps, Chess Herndon (April), Bradley Harvey of El Dorado, Andrew Hendrix (Katie) of White Hall, Nathan Hendrix (Nikki) of Russellvile; sisters, Karlee Harvey of El Dorado, Amanda Haltom of Grandbury, Texas; grandmother Ann Jean Peace Nipper of Magnolia; Aunt Kathy Ardoin of Las Vegas, aunt Lynn Salmon of Windermere, Florida, and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation with the family will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. with Dr. Mike Seabaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia City Cemetery. Payton's brothers will serve as pallbearers.
