Magnolia will go on the road for the first time in 5A-South Conference tonight when it visits the Rams at Hot Springs Lakeside.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.,
The Panthers have proven they can win away from home with victories at Nashville and Crossett to start the season.
"We will look at every team as if they are the best team in the state. We have to take care of ourselves," said Magnolia head coach Mark King.
According to the coach, the Panthers have the mindset that they are 14 points down when getting off the bus.
"To have that mindset and play like we're playing from behind is huge for us. We have to continue to play with fire and we will be alright," he stated.
King added, "On our offensive line, we are not the biggest up front. But the five we put out there will get down and get after you. They are nasty. They fight, claw and scratch for everything."
Defensively, Magnolia has manhandled its last three opponents and allowed them a touchdown each.
The offense continues to click, with leader B.J. Curry needing only a half last week to gain nearly 200 yards and four touchdowns.
Hot Springs Lakeside fell to Camden Fairview last week, but did manage a 50-yard touchdown pass on the Cardinals.
Last season, Magnolia literally ran away from Hot Springs Lakeside by rushing for 655 yards during a 61-35 victory at Panther Stadium. The teams combine for 96 points, but compiled 1,285 yards of total offense. Magnolia's defense stepped up when needed, forcing the Rams to give the ball over on downs four times (once at the 9 and 16 yard lines). It also had an interception and recovered a fumble.
Its defense is yielding nearly 45 points per game to opponents.
