The Magnolia Panthers and Lady Panthers battled Hamburg, Crossett and Monticello on the tennis court during recent matches.
The Lady Panthers defeated Crossett 3-1. Lillian Willis (6-2) won in singles play. In doubles, Ja'Miya Wright and I'Shanna Ellis won 6-2,while S. Clayton and Yuliana Sanchez won 6-3.
Against Hamburg, Willis (1-8), Jessica Del Angel (0-8) and Alicia Del Angel (1-6) were losers in singles play. In doubles, Ellis/Wright, Clayton/Sanchez were losers. Also Sanchez/Chloe Broomfield lost in junior varsity action.
The Panthers lost to Hamburg 3-1, while the junior varsity squad tied 2-2 with the Lions.
In varsity, Landry and David Burgess fell in singles play, while Riley McCook/Jacob Lewis, Isaac Ray/Judah Ray and Brodie Goodwin/Pedro Rodriguez were defeated in doubles action.
Andy Simmons won his singles match 6-3 in JV action.
Against Monticello, McCook won in singles. I.Ray/J. Ray were winners in doubles.
For the Lady Panthers, Will and Wright took victories in singles. J. Del Angel/Willis were the only winners in doubles action.
