A Louisiana man was killed while walking along Highway 79 Friday evening.
According to an Arkansas State Police accident report, the night was clear and roads were dry at the time of the incident.
At approximately 11:47 p.m., Travellus Young of Springhill, Louisiana, was walking in the southbound lane of Highway 79 North near the Flying Burger, the report states. At the same time, a Ford F450 was also traveling south.
The Ford F450 struck Young and killed him, according to the ASP report.
After being pronounced dead by the Columbia County coroner, Young's body was transferred to R.L. Reed Funeral Home.
The accident is currently being investigated by Arkansas State Police Trooper First Class David Fielding.
