Shannon Hair has won the runoff election for Columbia county Assessor's Office.
The Columbia County Assessor's Office runoff election ended June 21, 2022, at 7 p.m.
The race was between Shannon Hair and Allison Fitzgerald.
In the runoff election, only 5.84 percent of registered voters voted.
Hair received 380 votes and Fitzgerald received 331 votes.
During the primary election, Hair received 1,097 votes and Fitzgerald received 1.026 votes.
After learning of her win on the night of June 21 Hair posted her feelings about it on Facebook.
Hair said, " Columbia County- Thank you!!
I wanted to give a big thank you to my supporters through this entire journey!
I am incredibly grateful, thankful, and blessed to have had this opportunity to chase after something I truly have a passion for.
This has definitely been an experience of a lifetime, that I will always cherish!
The amount of support I received through this walk was encouraging and inspiring to say the least and I will be forever thankful for each and every one of you!
