Dr. James Rudder is an orthopedic surgeon who moved to Magnolia to work with the Magnolia Regional Medical Center (MRMC) in April of 2021.

Since then, he has had many patients come to him for help. He joked about being able to remember the medical information about one patient out of 900. This is not an exaggeration seeing as how on Wednesday, Jan. 12, he saw almost 40 patients in one evening.

"We are completely overwhelmed by how welcoming Magnolia has been. It is very close to where I grew up and very similar to where I grew up," Rudder said. "Magnolia has been lovely and welcoming. We are also overwhelmed by the need for an orthopedic surgeon here in Magnolia."

Rudder previously had an office on East Columbia Street, where the current surgical clinic is, but has since moved his clinic to 1005 N, Jackson Street, where the Lifesmart building used to be. The physical therapy clinic is also there and Rudder said this makes it easy for him to work with the physical therapists and patients on treatment.

Rudder was born in El Dorado and grew up in the Lisbon area. He got his medical training at the University of Arkansas and his surgical training at Texas A&M. Rudder practiced orthopedic surgery for 20 years in Hot Springs before moving to Magnolia.

Anyone in need of orthopedic assistance can make an appointment by calling his office at 870-235-3200.
