The Southern Arkansas Muleriders drop a pair of games during their basketball season openers over the weekend, while the Lady Muleriders picked up two wins.
At the Central Region Tip-off Challenge in Kansas City, MO, the Muleriders (0-2) lost 74-66 to Augustana and fell 78-69 to Northern State.
Against Augustana, Aaron Lucas led with 18 points, followed by Devante Brooks with 14, Jalen Brooks adding 12 and Blake Rogers finishing with 10. In the battle with Northern State, Lucas led the way with 12 and D. Brooks had 18.
The Muleriders are scheduled to host Arkansas Baptist College of Little Rock at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the W.T. Watson Athletic Center and travel to Dallas Baptist on Saturday.
The Lady Muleriders put on an offensive show during their two wins, beating Lincoln University 98-63 and outscoring Upper Iowa 102-96.
Kylie Warren and Mychala Linzy had 15 apiece against Lincoln, while Diamond Morris added 13 and Jerica Bell finishing with 10. Against Upper Iowa, Kenzie Ezekiel led with 17, followed by Morris with 15. Kisi Young and Bell had 14 apiece.
The Lady Muleriders' next action will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Claremore, OK, against Rogers State.
