Panthers baseball to open regionals against Malvern Leopards

The Magnolia Panthers will open Class 4A South Region Baseball Tournament action at 12:30 p.m. today at Nashville against the Malvern Leopards. A victory would move them second round action at noon Friday and secures a spot in next week’s Class 4A State Tournament at Morrilton. Magnolia and Malvern met on March 24, with the Panthers getting a 9-8 come-from-behind win. In softball, Magnolia and Malvern will play at 5:30 p.m. today. Class 1A games of interest today include (baseball) Mt. Ida vs. Nevada, 10 a.m. and Taylor vs. Blevins, 3 p.m; (softball) Mt. Ida vs. Emerson at 10 a.m. and Taylor vs. Blevins, 3 p.m.
