County Sheriff’s Office seeking jailers, LPN for County Detention Facility

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is seeking male and female jailers for the County Detention Facility. In a press release to the Banner-News, the Sheriff’s office described the positions as involving “shift work and working with inmates.”

Pay for these positions is $14.51 per hour and benefits include 40 hours of vacation earned after the first year, health insurance, 8 hours of sick time earned per month and retirement.

Applicants interested in working as a jailer must come to the sheriff’s office to fill out an application. Applicants must also be able to pass a drug screening.

The Sheriff’s office is also looking for a part-time LPN, who is needed for medication management with the County Detention Facility. Salary can be discussed with the Jail Administrator at the time of the application or interview.
