Students returned to schools in the Magnolia School District Monday, and the district published additional guidelines for coronavirus measures on its website.

Those measures are available in documents titled, “Expectations of Students During Quarantine;” they apply the Magnolia High School, Freshman Academy and Middle School.

Students in quarantine have a short list of expectations with options to communicate their problems to teachers and instructors if expectations can not be met. The expectations from the district are listed below:

  • Quarantined students will check Teams for each class every day looking for new Announcements and Assignments.
  • Quarantined students will follow Assignment instructions and complete work by the specified due dates. Quarantined students will not wait until their return from quarantine to complete Assignments.
  • Quarantined students must communicate with their teachers. If help is needed for any Assignment, teachers will be available during school hours. If unable to complete Assignments for any reason (illness, tech issues, etc.), teachers must be told immediately. They are available through Chat in Teams, by email, and by phone.
  • If teachers offer live video lessons during class time, quarantined students should log onto Teams to participate. Instructors will provide this information if this option is available.
  • If internet access is an issue, quarantined students may request the use of a Wi-Fi device to be used during their period of quarantine. (MSD Tech Department: 870-901-2544)

Students of the school district will continue ‘Remote Learning Fridays’, with the last day of classes on the 2020-2021 calendar listed as May 28.
