County-wide 911 address sign program still going on

Emergency responders rely heavily on highly visible address signs in order to find homes in the area when emergencies occur.

Unfortunately, most addresses in Columbia County are not properly marked and are very difficult to find, especially after dark. In an emergency, if first responders can't find you, they can't help you.

Being committed to the safety of county residents, emergency responders in Columbia County are making available durable, highly reflective signs that will help emergency responders locate homes more easily and quickly.

These signs are made of the same metal as highway signs, measure 18 x 6 inches, and can be printed to hang either horizontally or vertically with up to five numbers on both sides. Signs will be blue with white numbers which can be seen from long distances, especially at night.

The cost per sign is $20.

Order forms may be obtained at Emerson City Hall, Taylor City Hall, McNiel Water Office, Magnolia Water Office, Columbia County Ambulance Service, Chamber of Commerce and Columbia County Judge's Office.

Order forms may be returned with payment to these locations or mailed with payment to the Emerson Fire Department, P.O. Box 274, Emerson, AR 71740.

Signs may also be ordered online at: columbiacountyambulance.com.
