Magnolia School District releases end-of-year plan for masks and quarantine

The Magnolia School District will continue to follow the direction of the Secretary of Health’s public health directive for the remainder of the current school year. This directive requires every person in the school to wear a face covering in all indoor environments where they are exposed to non-household members and when social distancing of six feet or more can not be assured.

Exemptions to this rule are for students younger than 10 years old, those with a medical condition that prevents wearing a face covering and when performing job duties where a mask inhibits the ability to safely and effectively perform. Those within the school district will be exempt from wearing face coverings when consuming food or drink, participating in athletic services, during P.E. and recess, and when giving a speech or performance for broadcast or to an audience.

Any individuals that meet one or more of the criteria below do not have to quarantine:those who are within 90 days of having tested positive,

those who are considered fully vaccinated (post 2 weeks of vaccination for a single dose vaccine and post 2 weeks of the second dose for a two-dose vaccine)

those in K-12 schools where a mask mandate policy is in place and both the positive case and the close contact were properly wearing masks.
