The Magnolia School District will observe Red Ribbon Week this year during the week of October 26 – 30.
The Magnolia School District supports Red Ribbon Week as an opportunity for District-wide employees, parents and other caregivers and community members to talk to children about the dangers of drug use. The District wants to empower young people to be healthy, drug-free students who learn and succeed in school and in life. Red Ribbon Week presents a visible commitment to a safe, healthy and drug-free lifestyle. It is designed to create awareness of problems related to the use of tobacco, alcohol and other drugs and to support choosing to live a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
In addition to the age-appropriate school activities, which are available during Red Ribbon Week, the District provides each student and employee with a silicone bracelet, which states the Red Ribbon Week theme of, “Be Happy. Be Brave. Be Drug Free.” Additionally, numerous local restaurants provide student offers during the week.
