Area Chamber hosting ‘Let it Glow’ Christmas house decorating contest

The Magnolia-Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, along with the Crowell Family, Entergy and Story’s on the Square are encouraging the community to deck their homes with lights, lawn ornaments, wreaths and more to bring in holiday cheer to families around the county.

A flyer from the Chamber of Commerce states, “There’s nothing better than seeing thousands of twinkling lights on a cold winter’s night. Join us this Christmas season by beautifying your home in our 1st Annual Let it Glow Contest and Tour of Lights!”

Registration for the contest ends December 3, with a decoration deadline of December 8. Each house will have a numbered yard sign, allowing for county residents to vote on their favorite home by texting the house number to 870-276-7500. Voting will take place December 9 - 29. Winners will be contacted and the results posted on social media.

The Grand Prize for the contest is $500, sponsored by the Crowell Family. The Griswold Award for most lights will receive $250, sponsored by the Crowell Family, and the People’s Choice award will receive $250, sponsored by Entergy.

An interactive map of Christmas lights around the county will be made for families to tour the Christmas lights and vote for their favorite display.
