The Columbia County Court will host its November meeting on Monday at 5 p.m. in the second-floor courtroom of the Columbia County Courthouse. The Justices of the Peace and County Judge Denny Foster will attend to new items on the agenda including the consideration of an appropriation ordinance to establish a sub-fund of County General to be called the Corona-Virus Relief fund, and to declare an emergency. They will also consider an appropriation ordinance to transfer funds from the Rural Community Aid Sales Tax Fund Budget to Grants in the Aid Fund Budget, considering purchasing a freezer for the county jail, consider the reappointment of Mr. Chris Gilliam as Commissioner of the Columbia County Rural Development Authority, approval of the Annual Operating Budget for Calendar Year 2021 and an ordinance approving the rate of millage levy for the Taxing Districts in Columbia County, for the year 2020, to be collected in 2021.
The meeting agenda states that masks are required to attend the Quorum Court meeting and requests that visitors stay safe and utilize social distancing as recommended by the Arkansas Department of Health.
The Magnolia City Council will meet on Nov. 23 at 5 p.m in the Magnolia City Council Chambers. No agenda for the meeting has been released to the Banner-News at this time.
