A Law Enforcement Cruiser and Vehicle Parade for Special Olympics athletes who two centers for developmentally disabled individuals in Magnolia is scheduled for Thursday.

Local agencies will include the Magnolia Police Department, Columbia Sheriff’s Office, Magnolia Fire Department, Southern Arkansas University Campus Police, and maybe a surprise guest or two.

Also, athletes will include those from Abilities Unlimited and Magnolia Specialized Services.

At 10 a.m. Thursday, law enforcement representatives will meet at Magnolia Police Department. The route will be from the police department to Abilities Unlimited on South Washington Street and then to Magnolia Specialized Services on North Vine Street.

The purpose is create awareness and celebrate the Law Enforcement Torch Run and athletes who participate in Area 15 and Special Olympics Arkansas. Normally, these athletes would be welcoming their law enforcement heroes at Summer Games in Searcy - the largest event in the state.
