Food Truck coming to Waldo

— Harvest Regional Food Bank will distribute the food boxes directly from their truck on Wednesday, May 29, from 10 a.m. to noon or until all boxes have been distributed. The truck will be parked at the 102 E. Main St. in Waldo (fire department).

With CDC precautions and recommendations against the Coronavirus still in place, Harvest is taking every measure to ensure the safety of its staff, volunteers and recipients. Mobile pantries are now operating as “drive-thru” distributions, with food boxes being loaded directly into vehicles. Recipients will not be allowed to exit the vehicle or park to pick up food.

The boxes will contain mostly fresh and frozen items.

Recipients must bring photo identification verifying their age and residence of Columbia County. Distribution is limited to one box per househould and two households per vehicle.

Last year, Harvest distributed 3.2 million meals and served over 60,000 individuals in Southwest Arkansas and Northern Texas. Both states consistently rank in the top 10 for the highest incidents of hunger.
