Unity Church Magnolia is hosting a food drive on Aug. 6 from 2 to 4 p.m. on location. 100 families will be given free groceries which include applesauce, green beans, beef pasta dinner, lasagna, oranges, mac & cheese, pinto beans, oatmeal, stroganoff dinner, vegetable soup and frozen chicken breast tenders. This food drive is in partnership with Harvest Regional Food Bank, who hosted a Columbia County food drive in Waldo on July 8.

These groceries will be given out first come, first serve. Unity Church Magnolia’s Youth Pastor Michael Howell said that this is the first time the church has hosted a food drive. He said that given what was going on in the country, the church decided a food drive would be the best way to serve their community.

“We are excited and can’t wait to see the results of it,” said Howell.
