Man, age 21, drowns in Lafayette County creek

— On Monday at approximately 12:45 a.m., Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 160 at the Bodcaw Bridge.

Upon arrival, deputies could see a truck in the creek that had an impact with the bridge. After the truck was removed from the creek, there was a search conducted in the area for the driver, Samuel Sessions, 21, of Paragould, Arkansas.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., deputies and volunteer recovered Sessions deceased, approximately 30 yards from where the truck entered the creek.

Lafayette County Sheriff Obie Sims expressed his thanks to thank Lake Erling Fire Department, Walker Creek Fire Department, Arkansas Game & Fish, Bossier Parrish, La., Dive Team, and Lafayette County Dive Team for assisting in the search and rescue.
