DOROTHY O. RUSSELL

Dorothy “Dot” O. Russell, 89, of Magnolia, AR passed away April 14, 2020 at her residence.

Dot was born October 21, 1930 in Lockesburg, AR to the late A. Paul and Maggie E. (Sharp) Owens. She was a teacher at Magnolia Public Schools and a librarian for the Book Mobile at the Columbia County Library. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Thomas McKamie “Mack” Russell; grandson Alexander McKamie Rogers; brother Rufus Owens; sisters Jane Cheatham, Mary Lou Taylor, Bea Youngblood, and Ruth Hansen. Dot is survived by her children Theresa “Terry” Russell and husband James Power of West Fork, AR, Peggy Vincent Rogers and husband William of

El Dorado and David Tipton Russell of Magnolia; grandson Vincent Rogers of Magnolia; great grandson Jacob Andrew Rogers; sister Polly Crisp of Russellville; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

A private family interment of Dot’s ashes will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Cremation services were provided by Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Columbia County Animal Protection Society (CCAPS), PO Box 2003, Magnolia, AR 71754.
