Sheriff's Office warns of springtime scammers

A special alert was issued Wednesday from the Columbia County Sheriff's Office warning of springtime scammers. The message was as follows:

Our office wanted to alert citizens that since the weather is warming up, gypsies are going to start traveling, trying to sell their "services." We want everyone to be weary of anyone stopping by your house to sell excess gravel, power-washing or cleaning your home, driveway, or roof, or minor home repairs that they could be soliciting.
