Bodcaw Bank build boosts August building permits to $1.8M

Led by a nearly $1.7 million construction project for a new Bodcaw Bank Magnolia branch, building permits for the month of August in Magnolia totaled $1,804,420, according to City Inspector David Nelson’s office. The almost 7,000 square-foot 2125 N. Jackson Street bank building broke ground last month. The early stages consisted mostly of dirt work, but outside wall framing was seen going up this week.

Other projects issued permits in Magnolia included two remodels, a swimming pool installation, and a mobile home.

The permits, in chronological order, were:

Chelsea Walsh, 127 N. Washington, remodel, $25,000, Aug. 5.

Ideal Construction 2125 N. Jackson, new construction, $1,686,420, Aug. 6.

Pleasure Pools, 411 Goode Circle, swimming pool, $55,000, Aug. 19.

John Gentry, 907 S. Height, mobile home, $12,000, Aug. 22.

JWC, 1131 Felix, remodel, $26,000, Aug. 27.
