Bette Lou Wilson Hollensworth, 83, of Magnolia entered Heaven on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at the Wentworth Place in Magnolia.

She was born October 25, 1935 to the late Louis and Mattie Lou Wilson and was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, J. D. Hollensworth. Bette is survived by two sons, Jim (Linda) Hollensworth of El Dorado and Jerry (Vicki) Hollensworth of Magnolia, one sister, Joan (Don) Vincent of Glover, Vermont, and one brother, Roger (Jan) Wilson of Magnolia. Also surviving are five grandchildren: James (Kristin) Hollensworth of El Dorado, Chris (Mary) Hollensworth of Genoa, Kaci (Justin) Moore of Vilonia, Trent (Amelia) Hollensworth of Benton, Hannah (Stacy) Bussey of Waldo and 13 great-grandchildren.

J.D. and Bette owned and operated Hollensworth Grocery at Village for 20 years. At every opportunity, their grandchildren were found hanging over the counter, filling a sack full of candy and making lifetime memories. Bette always shared a smile with whomever she met. She had a great love for cooking Sunday lunch for her family, she loved flowers and she loved her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. “Mammaw Bette”, only a few years back, could often be found with family at ballgames, cow shows and enjoying Lake Greeson. First Baptist Church was her church home for over 60 years. She loved her church and her church family where she was well known for her delicious caramel pies.

As an enthusiastic traveler, she made numerous, memorable senior adult trips, loving the fellowship as much as the destinations. Bette was a charter member of a special group now known as the “Koffee Klatch”. These ladies not only shared coffee, but also shared concerns and praises. Praying and encouraging each other are their priorities. These ladies were her best friends. A true Southern Belle, Bette’s legacy is one we can only strive to achieve.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 4, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Magnolia, with Bro. Dustin Wisely officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Magnolia, under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8p.m. Tuesday at Lewis Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Trent Hollensworth, Stacy Bussey, JamesHollensworth, Chris Hollensworth, and Justin Moore.
