Locals graduate from UCA; make UALR Dean’s list

The University of Central Arkansas held commencement on Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May 4, 2019, in the Jeff Farris Health and Physical Education Center.

The university conferred more than 1,200 undergraduate and graduate degrees during four ceremonies.

Graduates from the Magnolia area were: Nicholas Hugh Couch of Magnolia, Bachelor of Arts, and Amy S. Jones of Magnolia, Master of Arts in Teaching.

At the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, honors students who made the Dean’s List for the spring 2019 semester were recognized. There were more than 1,450 students whose academic performances were superior at the end of the semester.

Local UA Little Rock students who made the Dean’s List included: Courtney Curry of Waldo and Alexus Porchia of McNeil.

To be on the Dean’s List, UA Little Rock students must earn at least nine credit hours and maintain at least a 3.5 grade point average. The student must not have any D, F, I, or “No Credit” grades on their semester grade report.

With about 11,000 students and 100 programs, UA Little Rock offers learning, research, service, social and career opportunities that can only be found at a metropolitan university located in Arkansas’ capital city.
