MONDAY - Jan. 21

Waldo Rural Fire District will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Waldo Fire Station. If anyone has any questions, call Richard Metzelaars at 870-693-5327. All residents of the Fire District are invited to attend the meeting.

WEDNESDAY - Jan. 23

Moises Menendez, M.D. presents Stop the Bleed® - Save a Life at Lifesmart Center, 1005 North Jackson at 12 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. Light snacks are provided and the program lasts about 30 minutes with door prizes included. The public is encouraged to attend.

Harvest Regional Food Bank will distribute USDA commodities from 10 a.m. - 12 noon.at Lafayette County Fair Grounds located at 1360 Hwy 82 Lewisville.

THURSDAY - Jan. 24

UAPB/AM&M alumni meeting is at 6 p.m. at the Zion Hill Baptist Church in Camden.

The Emerson Backpack Ministries is hosting a fundraising Chili Supper from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Clarence Doss Community Center, 107 Kelly Street in Emerson. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased at the Emerson City Hall, or contact Bro. Eric Goble 870-904-1628. Proceeds benefit the student feeding program.

The annual meeting of the Columbia County Historical Association and Society is at 6 p.m. at the Central Hub. Dress is business casual. Meal is dutch. Everyone is invited, especially those with an interest in local history or family connections.

SATURDAY - Jan. 26

Columbia County Master Gardeners present Garden Thyme at Calvary Baptist Church, 80 US-79, Magnolia, AR. Registration is from 8 a.m. - 9 a.m. with the program lasting from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Admission is $10.

SUNDAY - Jan. 27

UAPB Vesper Choir Concert is at 3 p.m. at the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Camden.

MONDAY - Jan. 28

FACT, Inc. Policy Council will hold a meeting at 4:15 p.m. at the FACT, Inc. central office, 2720 Vine Street, in El Dorado. This meeting is open to the public.

TUESDAY - Jan. 29

Laundry Love event is at Main Street Laundry, 1109 E. Main Street, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to come do your laundry for free. This event is sponsored by Greer’s Chapel United Methodist Church of Magnolia. Limit three loads per family.

WEDNESDAY - Jan. 30

Columbia and Union County Extension will be holding Powerful Tools For Caregivers. This class series meets once a week for six weeks. Class size is limited, and registration is required. Dates for this class will be February 6, 13, 20, 27 and March 6 and 20, 2019. It will meet at the Columbia County Extension Office from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on those dates. To register call 870-235-3720.
