Roy Lee Thompson, 75, of Stamps, AR, passed away Sunday, January 6, at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, TX. He was born February 26, 1943 to the late Jesse Thompson and Everlean Johnson Thompson in Waldo, AR.
He attended the Lafayette County Training School (LCTS) in Stamps, Arkansas, and was a member of Bethal AME Church.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tonya Thompson; two sisters, Icelyn Thompson Sterling and Jessie Mae Thompson; and one brother, Robert Lee Thompson, Sr, along with his parents; Jesse and Everlean Thompson.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Carolyn Thompson of Stamps, AR; two sons, Roger Thomas (Crystal) of Lewisville, AR and Corey Thompson (Jamelia) of Fort Worth, TX; six granddaughters; two grandsons; three step-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws
Celebration of life will be held Saturday January 19, 11 a.m. at R.L. Reed Funeral Home Chapel in Magnolia, AR, with burial to follow at Smith Cemetery in Waldo, AR, under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home LLC of Magnolia, AR. Officiant will be Neich Robinson.
Visitation will be held Friday from 12 - 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
