MARY E. JARNAGIN

Mary Elizabeth (Keith) Jarnagin, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Wentworth Place in Magnolia. She was born on February 3, 1927 to Herbert Victor Keith and Katie Elizabeth (Walker) Keith of the Sharman Community. She married James Byron Jarnagin on December 25, 1948.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Francille (Keith) Waters.

She is survived by her children, Byron Keith Jarnagin (Kathy) of Arcadia, FL and Debbie (Jarnagin) Desonie of Magnolia. Grandchildren, Brett Clark Jarnagain of Orlando, FL Chad Bryon Burdine (Tabatha) of Magnolia and step-grandson, Brad Thomas Reed, of Jacksonville, FL; a great grandson, Cameron Brady Burdine of Magnolia and sister in law Ann Jarnagin Lewis of Hot Springs, AR. She is also survived by a sister Betty Keith Russell of Magnolia, brothers Ernest Willis Keith (Joyce) of Nacogdoches, TX and Roy Morris Keith (Sandy) of the Sharman Community as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as great-great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Mary graduated from Taylor High School as valedictorian in 1944. She moved to Magnolia and worked for Kroger’s for 20 year, and later Homer Wilkins DDS as a chair side assistant for 20 years before retiring. She enjoyed gardening and her love of irises, Asian lilies, daylilies and bulbs in general. In the recent years, she crocheted baby caps for the nursery at MRMC, made tatting for pillow cases she embroidered. Her embroidered dish towels were legend which she gave away to anyone who wanted them.

She will be remembered mostly for her beautiful smile, positive spirit, generosity and love to all who knew her.

There will be a family graveside service held at Sharman Cemetery on a future date.

In lieu of flowerers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
