Ernest Sims, Jr, 77, of Stamps, AR., passed away February 15, at St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, TX. He was born March 19, 1941 in Lewisville, AR to Ernest Sims Sr. And Lula Kates.
He was a member and deacon of Buchanan Baptist Church in Stamps, AR. He enjoyed working in the yard and gardening. One of his favorite things to do was cook. He was truly a caring and loving person.
He is preceded in death by his parents, six brothers: Milton, Jessie, Gulley, Willie, Bobby, and Harvey Sims, and one sister: Rokie Ross.
He leaves to cherish his love and memories to: his wife Mrs. Annis Sims (Stamps, AR), son Andre Sims (Richmond, CA), one granddaughter; Kayla Sims (Richmond, CA). Two brothers: David Sims (Minden, LA), and Jerry Sims (Pine Bluff, AR). Four sisters: Mrs. Lacy Bradford (Minden, LA), Ms. Johnnie Bell Sims (Lewisville, AR), Mrs. Learlean Sanders (Magnolia, AR), and Ms. Joella Sims (Minden, LA). Along with a host of family and friends whom will miss him dearly.
Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, February 24, at 1:30 p.m. at Buchanan Baptist Church in Stamps, AR., with burial to follow at Union Hill Cemetery in Lewisville, AR. Under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home, LLC of Magnolia, AR.
Visitation will be Friday from 12 - 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
