The Southwest Arkansas Bluegrass association will be held at 7 p.m. in the Bethel Fellowship Hall of the Bethel Church, 131 Bethel Road in Magnolia, AR. Pickers, singers, and listeners of acoustic bluegrass music are most welcome to come and participate. For more information, call 870-904-2817.

WEDNESDAY - Feb. 13

The Southwest Arkansas Planning and Development District Executive Committee will meet at 9 a.m. at 101 Harvey Couch Boulevard in Magnolia. The meeting is open to the public.

SATURDAY - Feb. 16

The Hot Springs Daylily Society will be meeting at 10 a.m. at the Ouachita Behavioral Health and Wellness, 125 Wellness Way, Hot Springs, AR 71913. We will view a YouTube video by Ron Reimer sharing his Daylily Garden from Fall 2017 - Summer 2018. SUNDAY - Feb. 17

The public is cordially invited to attend United Community Organization’s annual African Heritage Extravaganza at 5 p.m. Tickets are $30.00. The option to purchase a table that seats 10 is $300.00. SATURDAY - Feb. 23

The 20th anniversary of the South Arkansas Kennel Club Dog Show and Obedience Trials, Rally, and Lure Coursing. Show time is between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to come out.

SUNDAY - Feb. 24

The 15th Annual African-Ameirican History Celebration of Youth: Remembering Our Heritage is at 2:30 p.m. in the Reynolds Center Grand Hall. At least 20 high school seniors from Magnolia, Nevada and other area school districts will be speaking. Special young adult speaker will be SAU student Adrianna Valentine, Student Government Association President. The public is invited to attend and admission is free. MONDAY - Feb. 25

Families and Children Together, Inc. (FACT, Inc.) has scheduled a meeting of the Policy Council at 4:15 p.m.

LifeShare Blood Center is holding a community blood drive from 3:30 - 6 p.m. at Brookshire’s, 1623 East Main, Magnolia, AR.

THURSDAY - Feb. 28
