Magnolia to participate in high reliability school framework

The Magnolia School District and many other districts in Arkansas will soon collaborate with the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) to implement Dr. Robert Marzano’s High Reliability Schools (HRS) framework.

In a continuous effort to transform education in Arkansas, the ADE is using Marzano’s HRS framework to support all school districts with their local cycles of inquiry. This evidence-based approach can be tailored to the needs of individual districts and not be a “one-size-fits-all” solution.

A key component of this process is the collection of perceptual data, as described in Marzano’s A Handbook for High Reliability Schools.

To facilitate this data collection step, an electronic survey will be used across the state to gather feedback from four audiences. Separate surveys will be available for school administration, staff, parents, and students. The Magnolia School District will send letters home with access information for students and their parents. The online survey is available to all groups from February 5 through February 19.

The ADE is also working with Hanover Research to analyze the results and return a report for each participating school by March 27.

More information about the HRS survey can be found on the Magnolia School District website: www.magnoliaschools.net
