The Columbia County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) on Thursday held it’s annual drill at SAU’s Reynolds Center. For 2019, a tabletop, or non-live exercise, took place involving an “active shooter” and “chemical incident.” Present were members of Columbia County and Magnolia law enforcement, OEM (Office of Emergency Management), Magnolia Fire Department, Albemarle, SAU and more.
The drill is required annually for the county to continue receiving emergency grant funds. “It’s always something good to have — for everybody,” said Larry Taylor, Columbia County OEM coordinator.
