POLLY WALTHALL

Polly Walthall, 89, of Magnolia passed away Friday, August 9, 2019 at the Community Compassion Center of Magnolia.

Polly was born April 8, 1930, in Hayti, Mo., to the late F.W. and Mary (Ecker) McCarn.

She was a member of the bowling leagues where she won many awards. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the American Legion 40&8 Club and for many years she faithfully put flags at the graves of veterans at the Greer’s Chapel Cemetery. She loved her cow Calamity, her many dogs, and was an avid gardener and fisherman. She was an inspector for Firestone and worked at Partee Flooring Mill.

After retirement she was a housewife, mother, and grandmother. Polly loved to tell stories and was super feisty and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wilson Kermit Walthall; son-in-law Tommy Lamar; granddaughter Tammy Rene Lamar; great-grandson Skylar Hargrave; brothers Glenn McCarn, JR McCarn, Warren McCarn; and sisters Bewlah Blalock and Euline Holmes.

Polly is survived by her children, Paula Lamar of Sibley, La., Freddie Walthall and wife Gayle, and Teddy Walthall and wife Donna Faye of Magnolia; grandchildren Sonya Taylor and husband Brian, Paige Garcie and husband Mike, Whitney Jordan, Angela Walthall Gardner, Renee Houck and husband Nick, Freddie Walthall Jr. and wife Ashley, Scott Walthall, Adam Walthall, Ashley Allday and husband David; great-grandchildren Zack Taylor and wife Tarrasa, Madison Taylor, Keaton Taylor, Grayson Lamar, Hunter Womack, Brooklyn Womack, Braylon Womack, Cody Gardner, Cade Gardner, Clay Gardner, Erica Houck, Faith Houck, Pierce Walthall, Evelyn Walthall, Avery Walthall, Tate Walthall, Arleigh Walthall, and Tripp Allday; great-great grandchildren Caleb Mott, Bailey Mott, Harper Taylor, and Bostyn Taylor.

Graveside services held on Monday, August 12, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the Greer’s Chapel Cemetery with Dr. Eric Goble officiating under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home in Magnolia.

Visitation was Sunday 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Freddie Walthall Jr., Hunter Womack, Grayson Lamar, Adam Walthall, Scott Walthall, and Brian Taylor.
