Southern Arkansas will have one more series to prepare for next week’s GAC Championships in Enid, Okla.
The Muleriders will host the UAM Boll Weevils in a three-game conference finale Friday and Saturday at Goodheart Field.
Friday’s single game will begin at 6 p.m., followed by Saturday’s doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
The GAC Tournament will start a week from today and run through May 7.
After losing 6-5 to OBU last weekend in the first game, SAU managed to take the series by claiming the doubleheader by scores of 7-4 and 4-3.The Muleriders, having already clinched a spot in the postseason tournament, is still four games behind league-leading UAM.
The Boll Weevils have nailed down the top-seed and will hold that position even if the Muleriders sweep them this weekend.
SAU needs a good series to keep from slipping to the third or fouth slot.
The postseason will consist of the top six teams in a double-elimination tournament at the David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid.
