The Easter Service at Mount Vernon Church was wonderful Sunday. The young people brought a special and they did a terrific job. Mrs Mary Caperton sang three specials and as always she blesses our hearts when she sings. Bro Tim Vines brought the wonderful Easter message followed by breakfast in the fellowship hall. Of course, the children enjoyed the Easter egg hunt after breakfast. A special thank you to Mary Caperton for dyeing all the eggs and Joe Bob Caperton for helping with the hunt.
Next Sunday will be “Brandon” day at Mount Vernon Church. We will be honoring Brandon Drake on his upcoming graduation from SAU. We will be celebrating not only his graduation but also his time with us at Mount Vernon. He is a wonderful young man and he will do well in life. We will be having a pot luck lunch in the fellowship hall after the service. Everyone is invited to come and join us in honoring Brandon.
Bro Brent Summerhill, senior pastor at First Baptist Church Magnolia will be preaching at Mount Vernon Church on May 5 at 6:00 P.M. Hamburgers will be served after the service. Everyone is invited to come.
