Magnolia Police are still seeking information on a potential scammer after he told a would-be victim that he worked for Magnolia’s mayor, then proceeded to issue the wrong name of the city office holder.

According to a Thursday MPD statement, a report was made to the agency’s office on April 10 of a man attempting to replace a citizen’s driveway, saying “he worked for the mayor’s office, and gave the wrong name of the current mayor.”

Magnolia’s current mayor is Parnell Vann. He has held the office since 2011.

Few other details on the incident were released, but the suspect has been described as a white, mid-30s male, approximately 6 feet tall and driving a late model red truck.

The Magnolia Police Department requests that anyone with information on the suspect or any other scams to please contact agency at 870-234-5655.
