Magnolia High School’s Internship Program held its annual Employer Appreciation Banquet at The Magnolia Arts Center on April 4. Students in the program worked together to show each employer how grateful they are to work with such inspiring individuals.

The Internship students were responsible for planning and implementing every step of the banquet, from the overall theme, to the seating chart. The guest speaker for the evening was Mr. Cledis Stuart, Associate Dean for Multiculturalism and Diversity at Southern Arkansas University. He had many inspirational thoughts to share. He encouraged students to follow the three “P’s”; Passion, Purpose, and Pursuit in their journey of life.

Internship officers presiding over the program were Internship president, Yasmine Morris; vice president, Wayne Nalls; secretary, Aniya Pickings; reporter, Mikayla Peterson and historian, Elexus Bingle. Interns Yasmine Morris of SMG, Ja”Marion Love of Walmart, Mikayla Peterson of Story’s on the Square, Shay Crockett of Amfuel and Aniya Pickings of Sonic spoke about their work experiences. Employer Gloria Boyd of Amfuel and Wendy Love with Panther Plaza related personal experiences with their intern student employees.

Students and businesses participating in the 2018-2019 Internship Program are K’yah Bell, Shay Crockett, Jakavian Jackson, and Chazz Smith, Amfuel; Elexus Bingle, Magnolia Junior High School; Gauge Chambliss, ABC Tire; Lakiya Davis, Central Elementary; Charles Flowers, Magnolia Food Service; Payka Fontaine, Kindergarten Center; Brittney Fuller, McDonalds; Rashad Hartsfield, Magnolia High School Choir; Ja’Marion Love, Walmart; Mason Meadows, Couch’s Collusion; Victor Moore, Westwood Village; Yasmine Morris, Southern Medical Group; Ian Murphy, Magnolia School District Tech Department; Madison Myers, Magnolia Art Department; Wayne Nalls, Spencer Harris; Mikayla Peterson, Story’s on the Square; Aniya Pickings, Sonic Drive-In; Kalijah Smith, Walker Pre-K; and Octavious Smith, Mac’s Fresh Market.
