Freshman Sarah Evans of Bryant and junior Savannah Martinez of Riesel, Texas, have eight homers apiece. Junior Elisa Favela of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, has seven.

The fourth-ranked SAU Lady Muleriders (35-6, 26-3 GAC) will be going after their 18th consecutive win and sixth straight GAC series sweep today when they travel to Monticello for a 2 p.m. doubleheader against the UAM Cotton Blossoms.

SAU will then return home for a pair doubleheaders Friday and Saturday against the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns. On Dawson Field inside the Dr. Margaret Downing Softball Complex, the Lady Muleriders are a perfect 13-0.

The Lady Muleriders have been unbeatable the past month, outscoring opponents 134-23 (winning by an average of 7.9 runs per game). They have recorded eight shutouts during the run and held opponents to three or less runs in eight games.

The last lost for the fourth-ranked team in NCAA Division II came on exactly one month ago on March 9, when Southwestern Oklahoma stunned them 10-0 in five innings. The Lady Muleriders dropped that GAC series 3-1 to the Lady Bulldogs.

This past weekend, SAU extended its winning streak to 17 games by beating Southern Nazarene by scores of 4-0, 11-3 and 7-1. A fourth game was rained out.

Faith Otts hit her 11th home run during the series; Savannah Martinez got her eighth; and Elisa Favela earned her 11th win in the circle.
